About

Arlanjio is derived from the Latin “arangia”, which means orange.  There was a time when I loved oranges.  It was when I was sick of getting sick, catching virtually every bug that circulated my work place.  I gave it a try and it worked, very well indeed.  I also like the color.  It conveys a sense of energy that is engulfed in gentleness, just as the setting sun that lowers its inherent brightness to embrace the spectator.  It carries a hint of subtlety, often standing aback among other bright colors, but illuminates an inner beauty to those who care to look beyond the surface.

I live in Southern California, and am glad that I have been blessed with the sunny weather for many years.  I enjoy sports, particularly soccer and tennis.  I like to read, mostly material that is intelligent and educational.  Both have become difficult since the arrival of my beloved daughter a little over a year ago.

I am conservative, partially due to my faith in Christianity, and partially due to the dislike of the communist regime that kept my home country in poverty for a generation. I firmly believe that certain unalienable rights are endowed by our Creator, as was declared in the Declaration of Independence, such rights as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  I believe that the Creator is the sole enabler of such rights; without him there is little reason for their existence, except when defined by strength and brutality.

I like to write, as it helps me organize my thoughts and form new ones.  Writing provides exercises to my mind.  The process of assembling words and ideas into elegant proses provides a tremendous enjoyment.  Hence, I decided to write in a blog, hoping that it will prove to be a worthy outlet of my time and energy.  I am sure that some day, perhaps with my children, I will look back at these silly writings to kindle a great memory.
